William_CTO's Staff Application

New member
User name: William_CTO

• Minecraft Username: William_CTO

• Previous Minecraft Usernames (if applicable):

• What's your timezone?: Central

• Age: 21

• Are you staff on any other servers?: Not on any Minecraft servers

• Do you have access to Discord and a working microphone? Yes (could be a checkbox)

• Do you have the ability to record Minecraft videos?: I can, but not good ones

• Do you have a donator rank on any of our gamemodes?: No

• Where are you most active on the MineWrath Server?: Discord

• How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: 10 hours

• Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? If so, please include details (if applicable): Nothing that applies here

• Tell us about a time you made a mistake within the last year? How did you deal with it? What did you learn?: When updating a broken plugin for another server, I included an easter egg, and told the owner about the easter egg when sending him the file. He was very unhappy about it calling it an abuse of power. That interaction taught me to really think twice before making a joke or adding something unrelated to a plugin. Thankfully our relationship is still strong.

• Do you have any previous server moderation or leadership experience? If not, please explain how you could do as staff even without having any previous experiences. (Minimum 200+ words): If possible, please change this from a text input to a textbox so applicants can have more room to write, and can include line breaks. For this reason, I would like to DM this answer to an admin upon request.

• If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Minecraft?: I enjoy reading the Bible, playing VR, and writing software.

• Suppose it's your first week of being a Helper and you mute a well-known player. They're arguing and spamming you, constantly telling you to unmute them. What would you do?: I would file a report (as most servers expect you to do) and explain the pushback in the report. If the situation gets out of hand, I would ping a more seasoned staff member to help de-escalate the issue.

• You're on a busy game mode as a helper, questions are flying at you rapidly, you can just about keep up. You're getting messaged by 2 different players both asking you to get them a junior moderator for a hacker, someone then messages you on discord telling you that there is someone blasting music in their channel. What do you do?: Step one: breathe. Step two: join the vc and deal with that while answering the questions/DMs one at a time. If needed, explain that a lot of people are requesting you, and/or grab another staff member. Remember, we're a team.

• You've made an 'incorrect punishment' towards a player and there are 4 players arguing and spamming you saying that it was false. How would you handle it?: Explain to the players that we have an appeal process and if needed, grab a seasoned staff member to intervene

• Anything else we should know? I'm blind in one eye!

That would be 10 hours per week. Please remember I need to balance my time between studying the Bible, doing college, and making sure Ticket Tool doesn’t blow up!
